CM directs to augment the bed capacity by further 50,000 beds

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to augment the bed capacity by further 50,000 beds in L-2 and L-3 Covid hospitals at the earliest. Asking the DG, Health and DG, Medical Education to act in time-bound manner in this regard, he said that besides arranging the beds, the facilities for medical personnel and other logistics should also be ready.

Presiding over the unlock review meeting at his official residence on Tuesday, he said the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) should be activated and made fully functional in each district. Where the ICCC are not functional, the responsibility of DMs concerned will be fixed. He said the ICCC should contact the home isolated Covid-19 patients twice daily to get update of their condition.

CM also directed to improve ambulance services further. He said the half of the ambulances of ‘108’ ambulance service, medical colleges and government hospitals should be used for Covid patients and half for Non-Covid patients. He further said that the Covid patients should be provided bed in the Covid hospitals on the basis of their condition. He said that caution has to be exercised at all levels to break the chain of infection. Nobody will be allowed to spread the pandemic as it required concerted efforts of all concerned. He asked to improve the health services of Kanpur Nagar and arrange more ventilator beds there. Chief Minister directed to provide all possible help in flood-affected areas. He instructed to distribute dry ration in flood-affected areas while the ration kits in the marooned villages. CM asked to keep the cleanliness and sanitisation drive on Saturdays and Sundays continued with the same efficiency in order to control the spread of Covid-19 and other contagious diseases.
