Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta distributed ration kits under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme at a function organized by East Delhi Municipal Corporation at Pratibha Vidyalaya of Mayur Vihar Phase I.  On this occasion, East Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Nirmal Jain, Media Head Naveen Kumar, Deputy Mayor Hari Prakash Bahadur, Leader of House Pravesh Sharma, Education Committee Chairman Ramesh Gupta, Education Committee Director Seema Sharma, Councillor Vipin Bihari, Bhavana Malik, Kusum Tomar, Shashi  Chandna were present.

State President Adesh Gupta said that, the Municipal Corporations are working to fulfill the resolve of PM Narendra Modi, taking inspiration from public welfare policies. At the time when the country was combating with Corona pandemic, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, ration was provided to the poor and laborers for free, while more than 80 lakh people of Delhi benefitted from this scheme. Even when the schools were closed due to lockdown, the money of the mid-day meal was being sent to the children’s account. In such a situation, EDMC ensured that the students get money and ration as well, so they have started the work of giving ration kits for the last 4 months to 1 lakh 67 thousand students.

Adesh Gupta praised the corporation’s schools, saying that, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who never gets tired of praising the education model of Kejriwal government, should come to these schools and see that the education system and maintenance here is better than the schools under Kejriwal government. He further said that, it is a matter of pride for us that the schools under the BJP-ruled Corporation are the medium to providing better education to the children of poor and weaker sections. No fee is charged from the children in the corporation’s schools and along with education they are also given mid-day meal and dress.  At present, the corporation’s schools are also providing online education to children.  He said that, providing better education to children is the priority of the Modi government.
