The state Bharatiya Janata Party President Adesh Gupta has said our country has great importance for colours which are full of life and vibrant and bring happiness. Just as saffron colour indicates saints, yellow is symbol of Basant season and also connected to farmers. Taking this forward, the BJP spokesperson and Delhi Indian Islamic Culture Centre board of trustee Yaseer jilani today organized a Sufi qawalli programme on the occasion of Basant Panchmi.
New crops and new flowers make one lively and lead to happiness all over, Adesh Gupta said, adding for centuries Basant Panchmi festival is being celebrated at Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia and Sufi singers add colour to the festivity. The party leader and MP Hansraj Hans said Hindus–Muslims celebrate Basant Panchmi festival with great fervor and gaiety thus presenting a fine example of Ganga-Yamuna tehjeeb. Hans said the colour of Sufi tradition is Basanti and that this colour is not only a symbol of religion and culture but also makes life happy and colourful. Besides, this festival is also connected to farmers.
